Hello
I’m Richard Steinberger, a commercial photographer and filmmaker specializing in marine/boating, hospitality, architecture, lifestyle, and automotive work.
Leading brands, agencies, and design teams trust me to create human, polished, and modern visuals—stills and motion—that help sell experiences, products, and places.
From pre-production planning through final delivery, I bring a streamlined, professional approach on set, whether it’s a small crew day or a larger production, including aerial/drone when needed. Based in Beaufort, South Carolina, I work throughout the Southeast and travel nationally for the right project.
My Story
My passion for photography started when I was young, inspired by my father’s images of Europe’s breathtaking landscapes. I’m originally from Germany, and I moved to the U.S. when I was 17. I studied photography at Daytona State College, then spent years honing my skills while working alongside renowned photographers.
In 2002, I founded my own business, specializing in marine, architectural, and hospitality photography. Over the years, I’ve worked extensively with leading boating brands like Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, and Chris-Craft, as well as clients in tourism and design.
I also direct and collaborate on film projects, including my film Waniyetu Wowapi (Winter Count), which has won multiple awards and reflects my love for meaningful, real-world storytelling.
Today, I live in Beaufort, South Carolina, with my family and our Great Pyrenees, Kaya.
